continuing care retirement communities
Definition
- Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) offer higher income older persons a full continuum of planned housing arrangements, long-term care, and nursing services on a campus-like setting. Relatively healthy and still active older persons in their late 70s or older will initially enter the independent-living community of a CCRC, where they will benefit from its residential and hotel-like services and planned recreational activities.
