counseling and education: premarital
Definition
- Marital separation has serious physical, emotional, and financial consequences for former spouses, families, and society in general. It is important that couples are prepared for the ups and downs of marital life before they encounter significant relationship dissatisfaction, because interventions undertaken after the onset of marital distress must contend not only with the factors that led to the distress but also with the individual and interpersonal consequences that follow.
