- Broadly defined, the notion of culture industries refers to the production, circulation, distribution, and promotion of cultural texts, including those by the music, film, publishing, television, Internet, advertising, and marketing industries. Such industries necessarily assemble a range of agents, including creative artists, producers, journalists, animators, designers, prin ters, editors, archivists, engineers, technicians, promoters, managers, audiences, fans, consumers, and users.
