- Cybersociety is a society in which computermediated communication significantly affects the organization and functioning of society. Computermediated communication (CMC) means the Internet in its many guises (e-mail, the Web), mobile phones (some Web enabled), instant messaging, groupware, enhanced pagers, wireless personal digital assistants, and the like.
