death of a child
Definition
- The death of a child is a parent's worst fear, the ultimate tragedy, causing immense sadness that research shows is generally even greater than that resulting from the death of a parent, sibling, or spouse. Grieving is complicated by the parents' associated losses of the future, of their hopes and dreams for their children, and of personal and family identity.
