Definition
- A field of research and practice in higher education rooted in developmental psychology. Often using various learning theories to promote the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of students, developmental education typically focuses on individual differences and needs by providing students personal, academic, and career counseling; academic advising; tutoring; mentoring; and course work.
