Definition
- ELECTION BOARDS ARE used at the state and local levels to administer elections. Typical functions of state election boards include: administering the provisions of election laws, including the governance and conduct of elections, voter registration, campaign finance, certification of the final results of elections, coordination of the work of state and local election officials so as to obtain uniformity in their practices, investigation of frauds and irregularities in elections, and making recommendations to the legislature relative to the administration of elections.
