Definition
- An emergency support function is a grouping of government and private-sector capabilities into an organizational structure to provide the resources that are most likely to be needed in responding to and recovering from a disaster. Each function has a designated coordinator for developing plans and one or more primary agencies designated for implementing those plans during a disaster.
