experimental designs

Definition

  • As in other branches of science, the time-honored method of research in the realm of medicine is one factor at a time. This practice of minimizing or eliminating changes in all factors of interest and then, one by one, changing the levels of each factor and recording the responses to those changes has been and continues to be used for the simple reason that it works and because most researchers do not realize that better methods exist.
