family and work
Definition
- The connections between the worlds of work and family are complex, as changes in rates of participation in the labor force have had major implications for family life and children's development. This entry focuses on those changes in industrialized Western nations, although similar problems confront families in developing nations as women enter the workforce and as the nature of the work undertaken changes.
