Concept information
Preferred term
fencing (crime)
Definition
- There has been little research to date on the role of thieves, fences, and consumers in the overall redistribution of stolen goods. Given that burglary and theft are considered such important social problems, it is odd that these factors have been so neglected by criminologists.
