- In the past 30 years, there have been few stadium fires, with the most notable being the 1985 Bradford City Stadium fire in England in addition to the 1993 Atlanta Fulton County Stadium and Texas Stadium fires and 2010 Ivor Wynne Stadium fire in Canada. On May 11, 1985, a fire occurred in the grandstands of Bradford City Stadium, where 5,000 spectators were watching the final match of the season, and resulted in 56 spectators being killed and hundreds being severely injured.
