Concept information
Preferred term
geography of/and lesbians
Definition
- Lesbian geographies draw together the gendered and (nonhetero)sexual dimension of geographies. They take a number of forms, from examining how lesbians appropriate urban space to looking at how lesbians negotiate and use space, including heterosexualized space (i.e., space that is made to be heterosexual).
