- Global health and nutrition represents a broad field encompassing the study and alleviation of diseases of malnutrition affecting large segments of the world population. Approximately 2 billion people in the world currently lack access to sufficient food resources to support health and life, and as many or more have chronic diseases associated with the overconsumption of nutrients.
