Definition
- Government contract fraud is often in the news; the phenomenon is a source of skepticism for citizens and regards government activities at all levels, from local jurisdictions to national and international agencies. Some contract fraud stems from the diverse activities of government; Medicare and Medicaid, national defense, education, transportation, and public safety serve so many different contexts that the resultant government contracts are by nature wide ranging and complex.
