health production functions
Definition
- Health production functions relate end result measures of health (for example, morbidity rates, mortality rates, self-rated health status, or functional health status) to such health inputs as medical care services, diet, exercise, recreation, cigarette smoking, and alcohol use. Because the consumer's time is required to obtain medical care and to engage in exercise and recreational activities, his or her own time also is a relevant input.
