Definition
- Hospital preparedness involves many interrelated areas of medical and nonmedical disaster management. Prior to September 11, 2001, modern hospital preparedness focused on natural and unintentional, human-made mass casualty events and accidents, including earthquakes, tornadoes, building collapse, and airline and school bus accidents.
