Definition
- Housing trust funds are distinct program funds, typically created by city, county, or state governments, established with a dedicated source of public revenue committed exclusively to supporting housing affordable to lower income households. As of the end of 2010, there were nearly 700 housing trust funds created by local and state governments to secure funds for needed housing programs.
