Definition
- An immigrant mother is a woman who becomes a mother before or after she moves to a new country. Immigrant mothers are not a homogenous group, and their perceptions of motherhood and their mothering experiences are not universal, but are influenced by their gender ideology, ethnic/cultural beliefs, and social and economic conditions, which may differ widely between families and cultures.
