Definition
- Under Fourth Amendment standards, law enforcement or government officials are not required to obtain a warrant to conduct a search of an individual or an individual's property when the individual or owner gives consent. Implied consent laws and statutes pertain to nonverbal expressions of permission for searches and seizures that individuals give to police or government agents.
