Definition
- The Seminole Wars were the longest, deadliest, and most expensive conflicts engaged in by the U.S. government with indigenous peoples. These three wars mark the first instance of the United States having to face a prolonged guerrilla war and the only instance of Native Americans forcing the federal government to sue for peace.
