- JACKSON LABOR ATORY (JA X-LAB) is a not-for-profit institution with a mission “to improve the quality of human life through discoveries arising from our own genetic research and by enabling the research and education of others.” It maintains over 1,200 employees, nearly 500 of whom are dedicated researchers and nearly 200 of whom have a doctorate or similar qualification. The laboratory has five major research areas: bio-informatics, development and aging related, immune system and blood disorders, metabolic diseases, and neurological and sensory disorders.
