lead poisoning
Definition
- Lead has been used by mankind for more than 6,000 years because of its resistance to corrosion, its low melting point, and, ironically, sometimes for its sweet taste. Therefore, it is one the most studied environmental toxins, and its toxicity has been known for more than 2,500 years. [Source: Encyclopedia of Human Development; Lead Poisoning]
