- Primary cancers of the liver include hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cholangiocarcinoma, angiosarcoma, and hepatoblastoma. Of these cancers, HCC is the most common, representing the fifth most frequent cancer worldwide and the third most lethal, with a five-year survival rate of only 8 to 9 percent.
