Definition
- Local politics consists of the competition, cooperation, participation, influence, ideologies, and values surrounding common decisions that affect a metropolitan area, county, city, town, neighborhood, or other small geographical division. Governments play a key role in politics, but political activity takes place both within and outside the context of government institutions.
