- Masculinities are socially defined and culturally specific behaviors and characteristics understood as belonging to men and perceived, therefore, as representative of manliness. Masculinity is multiple and fluid, contingent on shifting cultural values and social circumstances, and not rooted in any fixed, biological condition.
