Definition
- McMansion is a term coined in the 1980s for a large new house. Like the popular expressions “monster house,” “starter castle,” “tract mansion,” “mega home,” and “garage Mahal,” the label implies that such houses are considered oversized, often ostentatiously or pretentiously so.
