Definition
- Medical travel refers to persons traveling outside their home region in pursuit of healthcare that is more accessible, of higher quality, or of lower cost. It is a narrower term than medical tourism (also health tourism), which refers to consumers seeking health services of all kinds outside their home region-including spa treatments and other wellness services-as well as the industries that cater to these consumers.
