Definition
- The loosely defined archaeological and historical period from the end of the roman period to the renaissance of the fourteenth to seventeenth centuries. In Britain, one narrower definition places the Middle Ages between the Norman Conquest (AD 1066) and the dissolution of the monasteries (AD 1540s).
