Definition
- In 2008, the Motherhood Foundation (MFI) and the Association for Research on Mothering (ARM) began work to establish a world-class International Museum of Motherhood to promote the new field of motherhood studies and the evolution of family, while honoring the achievements of women who are mothers in perpetuity. The nonprofit MFI, founded in 2006, produces and presents visual, literary, educational, academic, and performing arts exhibits that celebrate, nurture, and support women, with a special emphasis on mothers.
