narcissism
Definition
- Narcissus was a figure in Greek mythology who fell in love with his own image in a pool and was punished by falling in and drowning. Narcissism is thus self-love, self-regard or self-absorption to an extent that is self-destructive. [Source: The SAGE Dictionary of Sociology; Narcissism]
