Definition
- Neurasthenia was one of the most diagnosed disorders of the late 19th and early 20th century and mostly prevalent in women (Showalter, 1985). Neurasthenia, like hysteria, presented symptoms such as blushing, vertigo, headaches, insomnia, and depression (Showalter, 1985).
