new media and alternative cultural sphere
Definition
- We are still living with the repercussions of the 1979 Iranian revolution that toppled the Western-backed monarchy of Shah Reza Pahlavi and established an “Islamic” Republic. That revolution was remarkable not only for the geopolitical developments that it ushered in but also for the role of media in energizing the political movement that culminated in the revolution.
