Preferred term

non-place realm

Definition

  • The concept of non-place arises out of a particular set of dialogues relating to the relationship mobility plays in the organization and perception of space in modernity. Non-place is not a location, rather it is a mode of moving through space that privileges certain aspects of the relationship of gaze and landscape, consequently reorganizing the social relationship the individual has with place.
