  • The ob/ob mouse is a genetically mutated mouse that is unable to produce the hormone leptin. The ob/ob mouse is different from the db/db mouse, which is able to produce leptin, but has an improperly working leptin receptor. [Source: Encyclopedia of Obesity; Ob/Ob Mouse]
