Preferred term
outer space
Definition
- Reflecting the sweep and unevenness of globalization, the human endeavor in outer space plays an integral if incompletely recognized role in the economic, social, and political transformations that have produced unprecedented degrees of connectivity. No account of globalization would be complete without assessments of the effects of the technologies developed to exploit and explore outer space, the international institutions established to govern outer space, and the political ideological explanations of human activities in outer space.
