parker brothers
Definition
- Founded in 1883 by George S. Parker (whose brothers Charles and Edward joined in later years), Parker Brothers, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Hasbro, is one of the world's largest producers of board games. The company's mandate was unusual for the United States in the 19th century: Parker and his brothers believed the primary purpose of games is that they should be fun, not educational.
