performance measures of physical function
Definition
- During recent years, performance measures of physical functioning have been used increasingly for the assessment of older adults in both clinical and epidemiological settings. One of the main reasons for their increasing popularity among clinicians and gerontological researchers is that they provide an objective and standardized method of assessment in an area that has traditionally relied nearly exclusively on self- and proxy-reported measures.
