Definition
- A substantial body of evidence has accumulated regarding the benefits that accrue to older adults who participate in regular physical activity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), regular physical activity provides substantial health-related benefits: It is cheap, safe, and readily available, and physical activity interventions have a major role to play in the prevention, treatment, and management of noncommunicable diseases and conditions associated with advancing age.
