Concept information
Preferred term
pleasure
Definition
- In commonsense usage this is used to indicate either an enjoyable sensation or something that gives a sensational experience. We all know the pleasure of anticipation, just as we have all experienced the kind of pleasure which makes us feel freshly grateful for being alive (for example, for the simple pleasure of reading or for the alchemy of watching a favourite boxer drawing flesh and blood from the mouth of an opponent).
