Definition
- Zouglou is a popular music style of Côte d'Ivoire identified primarily by its outspoken social commentary and its dance with angular arm movements. It started as a percussive music sung to the accompaniment of a tam-tam (jembe), glass bottles, and rattles, but in studio recordings keyboards and synthesizers are essential components.
