Preferred term
popular music and protest
Definition
- Popular music might have a central role to play in societies where the mainstream media do not allow for freedom of expression. The case in point here is Ethiopia, which is a country that, throughout the past decades, has experienced conflicts in which people find themselves caught up with little or no say in their government.
