presidential primaries
Definition
- PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES HAVE been the dominant method for choosing delegates to the national conventions since the 1972 presidential elections. The proliferation of presidential primaries has transformed the presidential nomination process by transferring political power from the party organizations and party leaders, to the candidate organizations and rank-and-file voters.
