  • The professional socialization of teachers refers to the manner in which preservice and current teachers become exposed to and internalize the socially constructed norms, behaviors, and knowledge of teaching as a profession. This occupation-specific process occurs through formal means like interaction with education professors and mentor teachers and also through informal means like interaction with education stakeholders, such as students and parents, or exposure to education artifacts like textbooks, movie portrayals of teachers, or newspaper articles.
