reaction time
Definition
- Reaction time, sometimes referred to as response time or latency, is measured as the time that elapses between the onset of a stimulus and a person's response to that stimulus. Reaction times (RTs) are widely used in the study of human performance, from testing models of cognitive processing in cognitive psychology to evaluating the design of human-machine interfaces and assisting in diagnoses of such conditions as schizophrenia, learning disorders, and other psychological disorders.
