Definition
- Recruiting advertising in broadcast and print media, as well as at local community events, is an important public relations function for the military services. Advertising and concerted public relations campaigns improved public perceptions of the armed forces in the 1950s, for instance, and attempted to refurbish their image after the Vietnam era.
