Definition
- REFORESTATION REFERS TO the re-emergence of forest vegetation (secondary growth) following clearing of old growth (primary) forest. Reforestation is thus the opposite of deforestation, which involves the removal of forest cover. [Source: Encyclopedia of Environment and Society; Reforestation]
