Definition
- Rubella Virus and Congenital Rubella Syndrome Rubella virus causes a benign disease known as “rubella” or “German measles.” The primary symptoms associated with rubella are low-grade fever, enlarged lymph nodes, and rash, and these usually resolve within 3 days of appearance (leading to another name for the infection, “three day measles”).
