safety planning for abused children
Definition
- Child maltreatment is criminal behavior that includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and emotional and/or psychological abuse. The magnitude and prevalence of child maltreatment within the United States is difficult to determine, as no single system captures all forms of known maltreatment across various agencies that investigate abuse and neglect.
