Definition
- Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease of unknown etiology which has a worldwide occurrence, with certain groups at higher risk. In the United States, African Americans are at increased risk compared to Caucasians, while northern Europeans are at higher risk to develop sarcoidosis than are Mediterranean Europeans.
